EREZ—Transformed Perceptions—A State of Colors
The images were taken in 2005 and 2006 at Erez-crossing, the checkpoint between Israel and Gaza, now the only possible crossing for foreigners into and for some Palestinians from Gaza. In former time, this was a daily crossing for Palestinians living in the Gaza-Strip, when Israel still welcomed their labor force. Now, this crossing remains abandoned most of the time.

Without the context, these images of the crossing are often deceptively perceived as an «artistic light installation», reminiscent of James Turell, e.g., but in actual fact, this approximatively 1 km long above ground colored tunnel is a rather sophisticated piece of military architecture leading to disorientation and irritation while walking through.
