Qid al’a nasha’—Under construction
Ala’ Diab
Rayelle Niemann
The city of Amman is undergoing rapid and severe changes, due to foreign investments, heavy increase in population and the constant re-shaping of the cities identity by changing it to a «City of Events», disregarding ecological and social aspects. To improve the quality of life of people already living in Amman seems not to be first point on the agenda of the planners.

Therefore, the citizens do not feel under control or part of these changes.
For the «Gazette» the map of Amman was redesigned. Shaping the city according to the needs of the people as well as applying mental topography and cultural references.

Taking constant changes, disorganization and unforeseen incidents into account, also this mapping has to be reevaluated.
